What happens beneath the surface shapes what happens above it.
We help you understand the patterns that contribute to recurring problems in your life so you can respond well.
We help you understand the patterns that contribute to recurring problems in your life so you can respond well.
DeepWaters LPC helps you understand and change the automatic behavior patterns that contribute to recurring problems in your relationships and quality of life, so you can respond with greater choice and find a different way forward.
anger • criticism • blame • defensiveness
You get sharper, louder, more critical, or more defensive than you meant to.
shame • self-criticism • collapse
Conflict quickly becomes “I'm the problem” or “I can't do anything right.”
fixing • pressuring • monitoring • overfunctioning
You take over, push for resolution, need certainty, or carry more than your share.
withdrawal • shutdown • avoidance • numbing
You go blank, stop talking, avoid, distract yourself, or emotionally disappear.

Notice the pattern sooner and understand what sets it in motion.
Stay more present when emotion, stress or uncertainty intensifies.
Explore and process what keeps the pattern active.
Develop more options for what happens when the old pattern shows up.

Why do I keep doing this?
Individual therapy for anger, defensiveness, control, shutdown, shame, avoidance and recurring behavior you struggle to understand.

Everything changed. What do I do now?
Individual therapy for people on either side of betrayal or a significant relationship rupture.

I've done so much, and pain is still running my life.
Therapy for persistent pain when nervous-system sensitization, emotional learning and related processes may be contributing.
DeepWaters also provides couples therapy and collaborative co-therapy.

DeepWaters LPC was built around two ideas: what happens beneath the surface matters, and difficult work is easier when you have a safe harbor from which to explore it.
I'm Bryan Snead, a licensed professional counselor and marriage and family therapist. My work integrates relational, experiential, trauma-informed, nervous-system and behavioral approaches based on what each client actually needs.
You don't have to fit neatly into one therapy model. The model should serve the work—not the other way around.
You may not know why the pattern keeps happening. You may not know what you should do differently. You may simply know that the way things are going isn't working anymore.
That's enough of a place to start.
